On arrival, continue by road to Shimla, the charming former summer capital of British India known for its pine forests, cool air and graceful colonial character. The uphill drive is full of changing landscapes, winding mountain roads and breathtaking valley views. Shimla Sightseeing
🏔 Today enjoy a full day of sightseeing in and around Shimla. Visit the iconic Mall Road — Shimla's pedestrian heart lined with colonial-era buildings, shops and cafes. Stroll across The Ridge, a large open space offering panoramic Himalayan views, and admire the Christ Church — one of the oldest churches in North India. Also visit the Jakhoo Temple at the hilltop, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the town and surrounding peaks, and the popular Kufri viewpoints for snow-capped mountain vistas. The route passes through the Beas River valley, apple orchards, dense deodar forests and dramatic mountain gorges. This drive is often considered one of the most memorable travel segments of the entire trip. Day 05
Manali — Rohtang Pass Excursion (Subject to Weather & Permits)
🏛 After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion toward Rohtang Pass (3,980 m / 13,058 ft) — subject to weather conditions, snow situation, road accessibility and any prevailing local government regulations. The route offers dramatic Himalayan scenery, vast snow fields in season and excellent opportunities for mountain photography. En route, visit Solang Valley — a popular spot for snow activities, paragliding and cable car rides (at own cost). If Rohtang Pass remains inaccessible due to closure or permit restrictions, a suitable alternate excursion such as Solang Valley extended or another nearby snow-point can be arranged based on the operational conditions of the day.
Note: Rohtang Pass access requires a separate permit. Union vehicle charges and local association transport may apply. Our guide will handle all necessary arrangements on the day.
